ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Marina!
I'm an integrative lifestyle coach, a health professional, a proud mother of three, and a dedicated partner. Originally from the south of Spain, I've been living in Austria since 2002. Being an expat for almost half of my life has taught me valuable lessons about human connections, social conditioning, cultural differences, and the unique challenges they bring to the ways we relate. It has also helped me develop an open mind, foster tolerance, and cultivate curiosity, as I see diverse viewpoints and perspectives as opportunities for personal growth.
I've had a deep passion for behavioral psychology, relationship dynamics and the connection between body and mind for as long as I can remember. Over the course of my 20+ year career as a pharmacist, I have wholeheartedly embraced a holistic approach, acknowledging the profound impact of authentic and nourishing relationships and a regulated nervous system on our well-being. Continuously expanding my knowledge, I eagerly delve into topics such as mental and physical health, regulating the nervous system, trauma informed care, somatic practices for healing, conflict resolution, and effective communication skills. I consider myself an eternal student, always seeking new avenues for learning and personal development.

As an Integrative Lifestyle Coach, I adopt a holistic approach to wellness, understanding that true health encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. In terms of somatics, I utilize body awareness techniques to help clients reconnect with their physical selves. This includes examining how emotions manifest in the body and employing mindfulness, breathwork, and movement practices to release tension and facilitate healing.
My coaching methodology is grounded in compassion, empathy, and understanding, with a strong emphasis on the quality of our relationship. I strive to create a safe space where you can feel truly heard and supported. To enhance your self-awareness and strengthen the connection between mind and body, I incorporate trauma-informed somatic practices, including breathwork, meditation, and techniques for regulating the nervous system. The coach helps identify how these blocks impact the client's goals and motivates them to stay on track.Therapy tends to be more reflective, often involving exploration of past experiences, emotions, and beliefs. Therapists may use various therapeutic modalities to help clients understand and work through their issues. Therapy is a healthcare service that focuses on diagnosing emotional problems and healing past wounds to improve the patient's present. The goal is to address issues like trauma, depression, addiction, or suicidal tendencies.
In coaching, a somatic approach encompasses a holistic method that integrates the mind, body, and emotions. This perspective recognizes the interconnectedness of physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts, highlighting the body's significant role in shaping our experiences and behaviors.
Somatic practices include exercises or techniques that engage the body during coaching sessions, allowing individuals to access and process their emotions and experiences. Techniques such as breathwork, meditation, and other mindfulness practices aim to promote emotional regulation, build resilience, heal the nervous system, and enhance self-awareness.
These somatic practices can be particularly beneficial for those who have experienced trauma, as they help release physical tension and foster feelings of safety and relaxation. Additionally, they can support individuals dealing with high levels of anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and overwhelming bodily sensations, whether in activation or shutdown states.
No prior experience is necessary. Somatic coaching is designed to meet you where you are, guiding you through the process and helping you develop awareness and skills at your own pace.
Trauma-informed means recognizing and understanding the impact of trauma on individuals and integrating this awareness into practices, policies, and interactions.
A trauma-informed approach prioritizes the creation of a safe and supportive environment, where individuals feel secure and empowered. It involves being sensitive to the unique needs, boundaries, and triggers of those who have experienced trauma, emphasizing principles such as safety, choice, empowerment, collaboration, and trustworthiness.
This approach seeks to avoid retraumatization and promotes healing by fostering a compassionate and understanding atmosphere.
In my holistic health coaching practice, I prioritize identifying and addressing the root causes of illnesses and dysfunctions instead of merely treating symptoms.
My extensive experience has shown me that a holistic approach—focusing on underlying imbalances and dysfunctions—is one of the most effective ways to reverse health issues and a range of symptoms that traditional medicine often manages solely through pharmaceuticals.
While there are situations where such treatments are necessary, particularly in acute cases or genetic conditions, ample evidence suggests that preventing imbalances is the long-term solution to health challenges.
My aim is to enhance my clients' well-being to the extent they desire. I take the time to understand each individual’s unique situation, allowing them to set their own goals and considering their available resources to create sustainable, long-term plans.
I adopt a whole-person approach that includes not only blood work and medical history but also an exploration of their perceptions of happiness and well-being, as well as strategies to optimize these aspects.
